SportsPulse: New Mexico State’s late game debacle derailed their chances of pulling off the massive upset and highlighted a common theme early in the tourney: Cinderellas falling short.
Fairleigh Dickinson won it’s NCAA tournament First Four game earlier this week and were rewarded with … a date with Gonzaga, the No. 1 seed in the West.
And, well, things went as expected as Fairleigh Dickinson ended up losing by 38 points, 87-49.
But the team did have a special moment in the final minute of the game when senior Nadi Beciri, who missed almost the whole year with an injury, was not only able to get on the floor for a little bit but was also able to race in for a layup, get fouled, and share a hug with his head coach, Greg Herenda
They didn’t win the game but this is a moment these guys will never forget:
Now that’s a cool way to score the final two points of your college career.
