The happiest place on Earth is about to become the happiest place for the LGBTQ community, as Disneyland Paris becomes the first Disney theme park to host an official LGBTQ Pride event. Buzz60’s Maria Mercedes Galuppo has more.
A man held up a Donald Trump 2020 flag at Disneyland on Wednesday and was promptly kicked out for violating the park’s rules. It wasn’t the first time he’s caused a scene at a Disney park.
Dion Cini’s flag, which was displayed on Disneyland’s Mark Twain Riverboat, reads “Re-elect Trump 2020,” with “Keep America Great” in the middle. Watch video of the incident here.
Disneyland prohibits “the usage of any flag, banner or sign for commercial purposes, or to incite a crowd,” according to its website. The trespass violation is unrelated to the content on the flag or politics.
Cini has repeatedly broken rules at Disney parks. He displayed a Trump banner in the Magic Kingdom in Disney World last September, and in November displayed a “Trump 2020” sign on Splash Mountain and a “Keep America Great” sign on Expedition Everest.
He is permanently banned at all Walt Disney World properties for violating the rules.
“We welcome all guests to enjoy our parks; however, demonstrations and the display of signs and banners are not permitted,” a Disneyland official told USA TODAY. “This person has been previously warned, and we have taken appropriate steps to address his behavior.”
Anaheim, California, police didn’t take any action against Cini.
“It is a Disney issue, not a police issue,” Sergeant Daron Wyatt of the Anaheim Police Department told USA TODAY. “APD’s only involvement was to standby with security while they issued a trespass admonishment. The subject was cooperative and there was no action taken by APD.”
